All Human Rights are inherent and indivisible.
But one of them, the right to life, is the supreme right
because it determines the exercise of all the others. For this
reason, the right to food is fundamental and we must all
contribute, in our daily behavior, to make sure that nobody
is excluded from this essential facet of human dignity.
To a great extent, history revolves around this
basic requirement. The obtaining, production and conservation
of food have been key to the development of humanity. Much has
been achieved, yet much remains to be done: first of all, we
must put an end to the collective shame that is the fact that
thousands of people die of hunger every day and, at the other
end of the scale, contain the veritable epidemic of obesity
and nutritional pathology in the most developed countries.
Likewise, it is important to guarantee a sufficient
diet of quality for all. The Triptolemos Foundation
aims to facilitate an adequate articulation
of the whole food system, from the products
to the consumers, that translates into greater safety,
availability and, what is actually crucial, in the
confidence (always verifiable) of the population.
