The Secretary General of Agriculture and Food, Isabel García Tejerina, met today at the Ministry’s headquarters with the Vice President of the Triptolemos Foundation, José Luis Bonet, who was accompanied by the Secretary of the Foundation, Ramón Clotet and the Executive Director , Yvonne Colomer.
The Vice Chancellor for Research of the UNED, Ricardo Mairal and the Rector of the University of Barcelona and current Director of the Agri-Food Network of Campus of Excellence of the Foundation, Marius Rubiralta, have also attended the meeting. On behalf of the Ministry, the Director of the Food Industry, Fernando Burgaz, the Director of Rural Development and Forest Policy, Begoña Nieto, and the Advisor to the General Secretary, Jose Ramón López Pardo, participated.
The Triptolemos Foundation for agri-food development is an institution aimed at creating a transversal space for dialogue, and activities among all the groups involved, from the primary producer to the consumer, going through the entire chain, and with an important central nucleus in the Universities and in representatives of the productive sector.
Its objectives include the promotion of the world of food in topics ranging from the prestige of research, collaboration to the problem of hunger of more than 900 million people, to the improvement of nutrition for all, within a credible environment in the system.
